"Oh my goodness this is just the best."

A friend who uses Musical Memory shared a great story with me the other day. She voice texted me:

"Musical Memory is the best thing ever... my first grader is doing addition with 8s and 9s right now. As you get further into the lesson, they start introducing the reverse of the problems. 4 + 8 instead of 8 + 4.
โ€‹
As soon as [6 year old] saw the problem 4+8 , she started singing the Commutative Property song: 'The commutative property works for addition and multiplication just like this, so I know the answer because it's the same forwards and backwards.'
โ€‹
I couldn't believe it. This is just the best!"

โ€‹

โ€‹Here's the exact song she's talking about.

Play it 3 times in a row and I guarantee your kids will know it for life.

Somehow the brain remembers musical tunes for much longer than things not memorized to music.

โ€‹

I don't understand it, but it's so powerful that I've written hundreds of songs to memorize all kinds of things.

  • Several long Bible passages
  • 12 skip counting sequences plus cubes & squares
  • Many other math facts & formulas
  • Chemistry facts & physics laws
  • Basic biology & human anatomy
  • Astronomy
  • English grammar fundamentals
  • and more coming soon...

โ€‹

The app has all our songs, ever (and we'll keep adding more!) It's now available in the Apple App Store.

Start a 1 week free trial & see how much your kids love these songs!

โ€‹

(Bonus feature... they're not an

noying like other children's learning songs so you won't get sick of them. ๐Ÿ™Œ)

โ€‹

Happy memorizing!!

I've been thinking a lot about how to describe daily homeschool life to newer homeschooling parents... one of the most common questions I get is: "If it doesn't look like school, what does it look like? What do you do? How do you structure it?" Anchors. Rhythms. Things that happen on a regular basis that are carefully chosen for your individual family and season of life. Things that always happen. (And by always, I mean most of the time. ๐Ÿ˜‚) What anchors are in your days, weeks, and months?...
