How to Teach Reading with Phonograms [Workshop]

How to Actually Teach Beginning Readers

I recorded a live video workshop with some new homeschooling parents about how exactly to teach your kids to read....

โค๏ธ Side by side at the table or snuggled up on the couch.

๐Ÿง’ At your child's ideal pace, without tears.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Without spending hundreds of dollars on curriculum.

Because spending hundreds of dollars on a program doesn't mean your child will learn to read without tears.

What will actually help your kiddo become a great reader is:

  • You, the parent, understanding how the process works (it's not rocket science)
  • Gentle instruction in phonograms (the workshop explains it all!)
  • Lots of short, repeated practice sessions over many weeks, months, and probably years.

Watching your kids learn to read can be the most magical thing!!

I love watching the "ah ha" light bulb go off in my kids' minds.

The workshop has audio & video files so you can listen or watch at your convenience. Most of the material can be simply listened to, but the video will be helpful for certain sections where I show more hands-on methods & tips.

I share all my favorite reading resources & answer questions too. If you have any questions after you watch the workshop, feel free to email me & I'll get back to you individually.

Happy homeschooling,

-Renee

p.s. If you don't yet have the phonogram games & cards kit, you can snag the workshop & the kit together as a bundle here.

I've been thinking a lot about how to describe daily homeschool life to newer homeschooling parents... one of the most common questions I get is: "If it doesn't look like school, what does it look like? What do you do? How do you structure it?" Anchors. Rhythms. Things that happen on a regular basis that are carefully chosen for your individual family and season of life. Things that always happen. (And by always, I mean most of the time. ๐Ÿ˜‚) What anchors are in your days, weeks, and months?...
